They are Venom, and they have officially returned — Sony Pictures has unveiled the initial preview for “Venom: The Last Dance,” the concluding installment in the Spider-Man antagonist trilogy.
Tom Hardy reprises his role as Eddie Brock, also known as the brain-consuming, symbiote foe Venom from the Spider-Man series. Sony is promoting “The Last Dance” as “the final chapter in the trilogy.”

- According to the synopsis, “Eddie and Venom are fugitives. Pursued by both of their worlds and with the net tightening, the pair are compelled to make a heartbreaking choice that will conclude Venom and Eddie’s last dance.”
In the preview, Hardy confronts a colossal, symbiote alien from Venom’s origin planet, in addition to being chased by government operatives. - There’s abundant symbiote action, plus a moment where Hardy rides a super-speedy, Venom-infused horse. Accompanying Hardy is “Ted Lasso” actress Juno Temple and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” actor Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Recently, enthusiasts saw Venom hinted at in the MCU’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home” post-credits scene. - In it, the villain experienced the consequences of Dr. Strange’s (Benedict Cumberbatch) chaotic multiverse spell, which transported various Spider-Man villains into the mainline MCU.
- At the conclusion of “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” the symbiotic villain was transported into the MCU and witnessed Tom Holland’s Peter Parker on a news broadcast, but in “No Way Home,” he’s zapped back to his universe — but not before leaving behind a slimy piece of his symbiote. Venom 3 was confirmed by Sony at CinemaCon 2022 following the success of its two predecessors.
- The original “Venom” earned $856 million at the global box office, with “Let There Be Carnage” pulling in $502 million worldwide amid a pandemic release.
- “Venom” and “Let There Be Carnage’s” writer Kelly Marcel makes her directorial debut with the series’s third part. She also wrote the screenplay alongside Hardy. Marcel and Hardy produce alongside Avi Arad, Hutch Parker, Amy Pascal, and Matt Tolmach. “Venom: The Last Dance” hits theaters on Oct. 25.
