This trilogy isn’t the first time Demon Slayer has been brought to the big screen. The earlier film, “Mugen Train,” served as a prelude to the anime series, following the protagonist Tanjiro Kamado. After demons slaughter his family and turn his sister into one, Tanjiro embarks on a journey to become a demon slayer.

He boards the Mugen Train to hunt demons, following reports of missing demon slayers. “Mugen Train” was a massive success, grossing $500 million worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing anime and Japanese film of all time, as noted by The Hollywood Reporter. Before this, there have been four movie adaptations of Demon Slayer, with the latest premiering in theaters before the fourth season’s release on May 12, 2023.
