“It is being announced to all concerned candidates and stakeholders of CUET UG that due to unavoidable circumstances, the test papers (Chemistry – 306, Biology – 304, English – 101, and General Test – 501) which were initially scheduled on 15 May 2024 are deferred for the candidates appearing in centers across Delhi only. The examination will now take place on 29 May 2024. The revised Admit Cards will be issued for candidates appearing in centers across Delhi,” the NTA stated in an official notice.
This deferment comes a few hours before the exam begins for exam centers nationwide on May 15. The NTA claims that the reason behind this postponement is staffing issues caused by the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. “CUET UG is conducted on a large scale and we had selected several exam centers and deployed invigilators for this process. However, we faced difficulties in securing a sufficient number of invigilators in Delhi exam centers for the May 15 exam due to the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. Therefore, NTA has decided to conduct the May 15 exam after elections.”
However, the exam scheduled on May 15 will proceed as per the previously communicated schedule in all other cities nationwide (including Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, and Noida) and abroad. Further examinations scheduled on other dates (May 16, 17, 18) at all centers including those in Delhi will be held as planned.
Recently, on May 13, NTA had issued admit cards for CUET UG 2024.
